Therapeutic approach to CML in TKI era

Chronic myeloid leukemia is a cancer that affects the cells of the bone marrow. These effected cells can grow and divide rapidly and spill into other parts of the body. It is relatively prevalent in the United States with 14% of cancer diagnoses being for CML. Immunotherapy is a new way to fight this cancer. This therapy stimulates one's own immune system to fight the malignant tumor. In this paper, we discuss the causes, epidemiology, and potential immunotherapeutic techniques to treat CML.
